Bout time I posted again, only a shortie though

I finished my last stakign deal with JonnyFish, losing $3 overall, so nowt to shout about.

Had a new proposition with him, waiting to see what happens, will update later.

Been short stacking cash games in order to try and build a roll for teh MTTs, not been doing too bad, been busto once after going on tilt after being KOd late in a donkament, built my roll back up from FPPs though. Will update soon, thats a promise, but am being the short stack ninja at a 5NL table atm, very aggressive so need to concentrate, catch ya later.

Quick Update

Not a lot gone on since my last post, haven’t really had time to play tbh. I am forgetting about the BotP target as STTs make me want to puke, and considering my roll isn’t big enought for any multi-table SNGs I have asked to be staked again by my previous stakor in the $2.20 games, JonnyFish, so have 40 more of these to play in order to build my roll.

Newest target is to win at least 2 and make at least 10% final tables on top of that. Gonna have a large sesh tomorrow as I always do on Fridays so will update end of Saturday.

Slight BR Progress

Would like to thank Renee for the comment on the bump, didn’t realise it had been 5 days since my last post! Feels like I have slept for 3 of those days! Lol.

Well I failed my first target, which was IMO the least realistic, although cracking the top 500 in OPR will be a toughie I have time to work at it, and tbh expecting a win, and 4 final tables from 25 games is a tad optimistic, especially when the games are micro buy-in turbos.

I cashed in 7 and final tabled 2 though so I still made a nice profit so I’m not too disheartened. I think I wanna tackle those games properly, but using my bankroll requirements I am currently under-rolled and therefore will be tackling $1 STTs for arounf the next 500 games or so, so that I can get my bankroll to a comfortable level.

Playing STTs isn’t all bad though, especially on Stars because of the Battle of the Planets promotion. Which I am sure you have all heard about, if not drop me a comment and I will put a link in the next post. I reckon that if I am maintaining a decnt ROI I can make the top 20 on the high leaderboard. Though I will need to run like a god to make the low leaderboard as it is a total crapshoot, especially over a small sample like 20 games.

So this is my next short-term target. In the next month get a top 20 score of the high leaderboard on BoP.

So thats about it for this post. Will write a post on either Thursday or Friday to let you know how I have started.

As always thanks for reading and GL at the tables.

More Targets

I am in the need for more target setting as I failed to meet my last targets miserably I think (I can’t remember what they are so I’m just making a guess). So I have decided to concentrate on the games I play best, at least until I can build a larger roll. Those games being MTT SNGs and massive field donkaments.

I realised this when I say YorkiePud is taking the MTT to try and build his roll so he can tackle the WSOP in 3 years time. And I thought to myself whilst bored in college earlier, if he can do it, why can’t I?

I have more or less started this already. I have been staked many times in the past 3 weeks. All of these for MTT SNGs and all but 1 returning a nice profit (the one that didn’t was over a teeny sample size of around 6 games so barely counts anyway, not that I am ungrateful for this opportunity. Thanks Suffolk!) so I amy as well carry on with the games I enjoy the most and win the most at.

So I decided that 2+2 must have plenty of good MTT threads for learning players (sorry RTR), and sure enough found a list compiled by a moderator showing all of the useful topics for just about every single situation you can come across. I will be reading these along with HoH and SuperSystem (obv not all at once, lol) and hoping to build on my tournament game.

To couple this new game plan I need new targets. So am gonna make myself some up whilst I am writing this post.

SHORT TERM TARGETS

  • Win at least 1, final table at least 4 and cash in at least 8 of me remaining 25 $2.20 staked games on Stars.
  • After this, build my roll to at least $500 within 6 weeks using proper BRM

MID TERM TARGETS

  • Using a 100 buy-in rule for MTTs, a 70 buy-in rule for MTT SNGs and a 50 buy-in rule for STTs build a $3k roll by the start of December
  • Crack the top 10,000 in OPR rankings for PokerStars

LONG TERM TARGETS

  • Have a roll big enough to buy into some WSOP side events by the year of the London Olympics, 2012
  • Crack the top 500 on OPR for PokerStars rankings

If any of these targets are crap, unrealistic etc then please let me know as I knocked them up in less than 2 minutes so can definately be better, any suggestions are welcome.

FFS I suck!

Again I cannot stress enough how sh1t I am at blogging. I really do suck.

17 or 18 days since my last post. It’s been so long and so much crap has happened that it will take me an hour to write it all. Though due to the fact that I am so poor, I will probably make a half arsed attempt and stop at 10 minutes.

To start with we have the Betfair tournament. This has been one of the reasons that I haven’t posted for quite a while. I am so pissed off with what happened in this. I started off extremely well. Well by extremely well I mean my 5k stack went down to 2k, but I managed to build it up to 8k after outplaying some bloke who I thought was a fish (actually turned out to be Zpaceman! OPR him if you don’t know who he is). And my stack remained around the 8k mark all the way until about 3 and a half hours through. Now after 3 and a half hours, with an 8k stack you are normally fooked, but due to the large buy-in this was a deep-stacked 20 min blind level tournament. Meaning I was still on about 30BBs even this late into the tournament.

As time went on I started to get slightly outplayed by some of the pros and high stakes regs, meaning my stack dwindled down to around the starting stack. Putting me under some serious pressure from the blinds. Then I found 55 on the button. It folds all the way around to me so I thought i’d push. I’d either steal the blinds or be racing for that crucial double up I need to put me back on track. You can imagine how ecstatic I was when I was called by the big blind and he showed 44. The flop was beautifully high but not paired, the turn didn’t pair the board and was also high meaning I could only lose to a rivered 4. And well you can guess the rest. To say I was angry was an understatement, I went ape shit. Normally I wouldn’t care if I was playing one of my low stakes buy-in LOLdonkaments, but in a $535 buy-in tournament I was fucking furious! Anyhow that ncident resulted in a broken phone.

Rant over now and onto staked games. I have been staked loads since my last post. Probably too much judging by some comments on RTR (I may have to slow down a bit, lol) And have only lost for one backer. Firstly I was staked by SuffolkPunch to play 5 $4.40 180 manners on Stars. And I only cashed in my first game for a measly return, and for that I owe many apologies to Suffolk.

Then I was staked by VGJFelix in 10 $1.25 90 manners on FT, and made him a nice return, can’t remember exactly how much but I think I ended up with $8 in my account after re-paying the stake and sending him his half of the profits. Not too shabby for a few $1 games.

Thinking to myself I like these FT games I asked to be staked for 10 $3.30 KOs on FullTilt, and again made an awesome profit. Finishing in the top 3 twice I think. Leaving myself an extra $36 in my account after returning the original stake and half profits to my backer.

And I am currently in the middle of being staked for a massive 40 $2.20 180 man games on Stars by JonnyFish. I have played 15 so far I think and already taken 1 down, and finished 6th in another meaning we are already in profit, so I will be seeing some return on those.

As I said I think I have been taking too much of an advantage of the staking forums on RTR judgjing by some of the comments and will therefore slow down some there.

Onto life stuff. I aqquired a new dog in the time I was away, and grew to love it in it’s first few hours in the house. Named Minne it’s a rescue dog, and was mistreated in it’s previous home so needed much love. It was all going great, she had a lovely bubbly attitude and got on well with the other dogs in the first few days. But then on the 5th day she viciously attacked one of the other dogs. Meaning she had to go back. It’s strange she went so calm afterwards and tried to see if the other dog was OK, but it wasn’t worth putting my other 2 dogs at risk again so she had to go back. I spent the last night with her and she was asleep on my chest. I must say even though she was only here a few days there was a tear in my eye when she was taken back again. But good knews is one of my mates may be getting her, so I will still be able to see her on a regular basis, we will have to see how things go.

And now a comical element to the post. On sunday I took part in the Boston to Skegness seabank marathon. It is an annual event and this year was the 4th time I have taken part. Completing it in quite a good time in my 1st 3 attempts. This time everything was going fine agian and I was on course to beat my previous record. We got to 18 miles and the course runs past a farm, a farm in which cows are held. This meant that there were quite a few cow pats across the course. And me being the doofus I am accidently stood in one. Now this wouldn’t normally be a catastrophe, but this particular cow pat was positioned over a pot hole. Meaning when I stood on the cow pat my foot went straight through and my forward momentum made me fall forwards causing me to twist me ankle, menaing I could no longer continue with the race, lol.

Luckily all of my sponser’s agreed to pay up menaing my chosen charity will still get it’s money!

I am coming towards the end of the year at college meaning a sh1t load of work so I won’t have as much time for poker as I normally do for the next 6 weeks. But after that I have all the time in the world for poker for 6 weeks so it balances out!

Told you guys my attempt would only be half arsed, this took my 20 mins to write and I still have loads more to say, but iI cannot be arsed to write any more so that will have to be part of my next post. Where hopefully I will tell you that I took down 1 or 2 more of my staked games leaving me some nice $$$ to play with.

Catch you all later.

Bleh!

One word describes the month so far better than any other. Sh1t!
My CD poker bankroll is almost non-existant, after playing under-rolled and hitting the negative side of variance. I am looking to transfer my CD Points into $$$$$$$ by playing some of their points freerolls. We will see how we get on.
My mansion roll is down to $2 as I was using this to take shots at high buy-in

Lastly I have around $25 in my Pokerstars account, plus some money in which I am being staked by SuffolkPunch, if his link isn’t in the blogroll it soon will be!, to play 6 $4.40 180 manners. I played my first this afternoon and cashed, after being CL for so long and fucking myself up with 1 poor play.

I have decided that I am treating my bankrolls how I used to treat play chips. Which hasn’t been good so I am becoming a lot stricter. I have a free $25 bonus coming in from Walker Poker, so will be taking my time with that and hopefully grinding it up, as I will my Pokerstars account. No fucking about now. Gotta play like I was when I had the decent Stars roll before my withdrawl. Time to put my head down and grind.

I can play the Betfair tournament 1 week on Sunday, so wish me luck in that everyone, the way I have been running recently I need it.

Also I would like to say thanks for the kind comments I recieved in my last post. It was so kind of you all, and I am feeling much better now, though my auntie is still in pieces.

GL at the tables everyone!

Pretty Depressed

I’ve gone from being on such a high on Friday to being on such a low now.

Early yesterday morning a family member who I was quite close to when I lived in Northampton passed away due to a heart attack. He was generally a healthy person, and the attack was random, as he hadn’t been suffering from any illnesses.
TBH I’m glad I have poker. It has been helping me to take my mind off of things and I played extremely well yesterday, as I was concentrating more than normal.

But as a result of this incident I am unable to play the 125k guarantee on Betfair tonite. I hope the guys from RTR understand that it is more important I spend time with family, and thus am leaving for Northampton later this afternoon.

Sorry for any inconvieniences.

Looking forward to Sunday

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

Isn’t that YorkshirePudding guy an amazing bloke?!?!?!?! As everyone should know, because they should read his blog from my blogroll. Matt writes his blog for Betfair on their site. Because his blogs are so spectacular, the Betfair people decided to let the most awesome forum on the planet have a competition. The winner recieveing entry into a $525+$25 tournament. It was a name in the hat job, and I won! Woooot! So Sunday night I will be owning all of the pros in this tournament! Wish me luck guys!

Also how awesome is that 1tripz1 guy? Remember me telling you about the OPG challenge set up by him? Well I won that as well! A well needed $30 boost to my PokerStars account!

So there has been only 1 thing to ruin a good day today. My push bike was stolen when I went to the local newsagents to get my newspaper this morning. Fucking chavs. Not like it was a cheap bike as well. Gotta report that to the police which will be a total waste of time, but nonetheless it has been stamped so I might get lucky and they might find it.

Will write up a bankroll post and do a live report for the tournament on Sunday night. Until then keep safe guys!

I’m Really Poor at this Blogging Thing

Again it has been a week since my last post. And even that didn’t update my progress properly.

BTCC was absolutely awesome. We are thinking of making it a regular thing. I am unable to make Thruxton this week but may be going to Croft, in 3 weeks time. It was an immense experience. I was obviously rooting for the Vauxhall team, as all of the drivers in my familiy drive Vauxhalls. We won 1 race, and coulda had a 1-2 finish in the 3rd if it wasn’t for Fabrizio Giovonardi hitting his own team-mate, Tom Onlslow-Cole, about 3 laps from the end as they were both catching on the leading car. Jason Plato won race 1 and his team-mate race 3, with Vauxhall taking down race 2.

On the poker front things are looking better than last time. My CD Poker BR, has actually continued southwards. And is on £3, or $6! But I recently aqquired a new BR on Mansion. Courtesy of another no deposit bonus I now have $40 to worki with on there. Lowest stakes though are sadly $1sngs and 10NL cash games. So gonna have to grind at some STTs to build a BR worthy of playing NL10.

Have been playing with Mrs. P on CD a lot recently in the 20cent STTs, all I’m rolled for! With mild success. But this chick has been caining my ass overall! There is a brag post on RTR if anyone can be bovvered to find it.

That’s me finished for this post. College is meant to start in 3minutes and am not even dressed yet. So gotta get a shift on!

EY.

Shoot me now

Oh dear oh dear. Don’t worry everyone still have a BR before you start worrying, it is just much much smaller than it was in my last post.

I carried on tackling those crappy sngs, and have realised that due to variance I need much tighter BRM. So am gonna use the 50 buy-in rule, as 20 is nowhere enough. Anyone wants to know how big my BR is atm, then check out my BR page. Am playing atm so will write a bigger update after the session.
